The buzzard's arrival is a sign of spring for those of Hinckley, Ohio.

Since 1957, Buzzard Day is celebrated on the first Sunday after March 15th.

The buzzards are actually turkey vultures who end their yearly migration north in Hinckley, where they spend their summer. March 15th is usually the day the first "scouting" birds arrive.
