Cultural icons like Superman are easily recognizable to the average TV viewer.

The popular 90s sitcom Seinfeld is said to contain a reference to Superman and other DC comics in every single episode, a rumor that can be somewhat credited to Seinfeld's well-publicized affection for the character.

Many debates have raged on the Internet among devoted Seinfeld fans over the truth of the rumor, however, and the general consensus is that not every episode of the show contains a superhero reference.

Superman paraphernalia is visible in Seinfeld's apartment in most episodes, but the knickknacks first showed up in episode 56, and some episodes before that don't have a documented reference.

For a comprehensive review of every notable reference to Superman and his kind in Seinfeld episodes, check out Seinology.com; almost every fact about Seinfeld is recorded there.
