How is a salt map made?

Salt can be used in crafting.

Ingredients:

  • 1 part salt
  • 1 part non-self rising wheat flour
  • 2/3 part water
  • Food coloring or poster paints
  • Heavy cardboard

Directions:
Mix salt and flour in a bowl. Add water until the mixture becomes the consistency of a thick icing. Add food coloring to the mixture, if desired. Draw a map on heavy cardboard. Spread the mixture on the cardboard, shaping hills and valleys. The mixture will dry in 1-2 days. Paint with poster colors when dry.
